2023 Crew Member

We're hiring a full-time farm crew member for the 2023 season.  We're a certified organic production farm and work at a fast pace.  We work through the rain, we get very dirty, and we have fun accomplishing rewarding work. 

-Harvest, wash, and pack 40+ types of vegetables while grading for strict quality standards.
-Help pack 300+ CSA shares weekly with surgeon-level accuracy

-Help plant 115,000+ transplants while riding a water wheel transplanter.
-Assist in propagation greenhouse seeding and management.
-Assist in irrigation installation and management.
-Occasionally deconstruct tomato trellising, hand-weed, or hoe.

-Two years of commercial vegetable production experience.
-Interest in taking on responsibility at the farm and applying a professional-level of focus towards our work
-Ability to work independently and productively even when sharing a close workspace with colle
-Ability to work consistently at an athletic pace.
-Passion for organic vegetable production or working outdoors.
-Ability to work in full sun or rain all day.
-Ability to lift and carry 25lb harvest buckets for 200’ or more.
-Ability to harvest ground-level vegetables while bending at the waist for four hours or more.
-Ability to speak spanish is preferred but not required.  Spanish is our primary language on the farm.

Position Details:​
-Mon - Fri 6:30am - 3:30pm   
-$17/hr starting pay + free CSA share + additional produce at employee discount
-Opportunity for pay raises through demonstrated proficiency and self-management.
-March/April - November/December.  Option for part-time e
mployment through winter.

Market Attendent - Birdsong Farmers Market

This is an independent position managing/operating our tent at Birdsong Farmers Market on Saturdays in Birmingham.


-Setup an attractive and fun display of organic fruits/vegetables
-Implement a final quality-control check of produce routinely before display
-Assist customers with their purchases and answer farm/variety/storage questions


-A positive attitude that can roll with heat and rain.
-A truck or SUV capable of transporting several coolers and market gear
-A passion for either farmers markets, cooking, organic agriculture, ect.
-Previous experience with farmers markets preferred, but not required.

Position Details:
-Saturdays ~6am to ~1pm   
-$15/hr + surplus vegetables
-April - November
